Bio

Famous for the magic box (a plethora of small instuments distributed to members of the audience at every show), Red Meets Green's founding members; Nate McGee, Anne Blom and Ian Smith met, for the first time, on a Monday night in March of 2008 at a small house in Bellevue, Kentucky. It was a night of excitement as they could not begin to imagine the possibilities that lay ahead.
The three began the evening discussing their favorite songs, artists, etc., and it was immediately obvious that this trio may have been the farthest thing from complimentary. It was an unlikely combination; Nate, Anne, and Ian might as well have been Bob Dylan, Rosemary Clooney, and Bob Marley... immediately doomed for failure. Fortunately, after a mild throwdown, the three, united by their unfailing love of music, established a middle ground. This rocky inception and diverse taste in music is what gives Red Meets Green its raw and unique sound, as well as its contradictory name.
Undaunted by ridicule or rejection, RMG quickly began recruiting new band members. Consequently RMG is comprised of six members of varying musical talents, as well as maturity, meeting to create music that is multi-generational and nonpareil.
Since that first magical night in Bellevue, Red Meets Green has played at Southgate House in Newport, Ky with the likes of Heroes and Madmen and Rosemary Device. RMG has played numerous venues throughout the Greater Cincinnati Area, and has also volunteered for the Covington School District and Cincinnati Humane Society.
Red Meets Green is eager to further their musical career, as well as their presence in the community. The most sound in Northern Kentucky and their magic box, is proud to give every lonely instrument its chance at musical magic.
