"Right now, you can reach into your pocket and pull out a device that can record, produce, and publish an entire album. Then it can be uploaded and posted to the Internet for the world to hear. It’s these powerful tech tools that have provided bands like Red Cent with the opportunity to record their first LP Strange Machine and put it out into the world using the help of Kickstarter. Later this year, they plan to release their second LP, Slow to Settle, using the same DIY attitude that has given them a strong following in the Chicagoland and Milwaukee music scenes. Recently, I got to sit down with three of the four members of the band in their practice space. We talked about the challenges of being an up-and-coming band, making a name for themselves, not taking themselves too seriously, and why they make music that they want to listen to..." - Appoet

Bio
RED CENT: noun.
(used with a negative) Informal in the US
"a cent considered as a trivial amount of money"
(esp in the phrases not have a red cent, not worth a red cent, etc.).
We are a four piece, formed from the ashes of what was; a continuation of Ryan Dusthimer's solo folk project. We've gone through a few member changes; as is, we've been around for just shy of a year but the Red Cent moniker has been around for a few years longer.
