Bio
When singer Sydney Sierota boldly declares "Tonight we're making history!" on her band's high-octane rocktronica track of the same name, she's got plenty of star power to back it up - namely, her brothers Jamie, Noah and Graham. All four siblings are doggedly pursuing their music dreams as Ready Set Go, a Hey-Monday-meets-Paramore pop/rock outfit who's ready to dominate radio waves before they even finish high school. "We know each other so well and have played so long together that we've developed this chemistry that's really important to have in a band," says Jamie. Sydney adds, "We all get really creative together and I'm never afraid to try something new with my brothers around. It's so comfortable." Ready Set Go is now busy at work in their at-home studio, crafting and recording their official debut that they hope to deliver by year's end.
Among the experienced tunesmiths working alongside the band are Robbie Nevil (famous for his smash top 40 hit "C'est La Vie" and the "High School Musical" franchise), the Go-Go's Gina Schock (co-author of Mylie Cyrus' album title track "Breakout"), Jeffery David (worked with Victoria Beckham and Paul Wright) and eight-time BMI Million-Air Award winner Stephony Smith (Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's "It's Your Love," Kenny Chesney's "Big Star"). So far, the sessions have produced surefire hits like good-riddance song "Already Gone"—a tune comparable to Orianthi's last-laugh track "According to You," where Sydney cops an I'm-so-over-it attitude you'd think she was a diva twice her age—and "Tonight We're Making History," which bounds with the same contagious energy and lyrical hooks as Paramore's "Crushcrushcrush" and P!nk's defiant "So What?!" Even when Ready Set Go gets a little more mellow, like on the plaintive "Stop Messing With My Heart," their percolating beats and groovy rhythms make it impossible to sit still.
Following the creative tradition of such musical dynasties as the Jacksons and the Osmonds, Ready Set Go's members have been making and playing music practically since birth. "We just happened to pick different instruments that happened to be a band," Sydney recalls. But the idea to combine her singing abilities with Noah's bass playing, Graham's drumming and Jamie's guitar work into one band didn't strike them until a few years ago, when they performed as a quartet for a cancer benefit.
From there, it was a no-brainer for the Sierota clan to create its own brand of insanely catchy, all-ages pop. The industry is taking notice, too: Ready Set Go has been playing major stages like the opening slot at FishFest 2010, the Christian music festival held at Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif. The group also traveled across the country playing high schools for the Milk Rocks! tour last year, backed by none other than Gibson Guitars, and just returned from visiting the manufacturer's booth at the annual guitar convention, NAMM, in Anaheim, Calif.
Now, after years of dedication, practice and determination, Ready Set Go are set to take the world by storm with their new album. They hope to not only one day share live concert stages with such pop icons as U2, Justin Bieber and the Black Eyed Peas as they tour the world, but to become as famous and respected as those acts.
Noah says, "I want Ready Set Go to have a huge career—not just be famous, but to have real fans and to be respected as songwriters and real musicians. We want it to last forever."
