Random Wright is American born singer/songwriter from Ft Lauderdale, Fl. Random has performed for crowds of thousands, recorded with leading professionals in the music industry, and trained under some of the biggest names in entertainment.
Random’s love for music started at a young age. He lost his mother to cancer at the age of 6, and there after, wherever he would go, he would sing. As he got older, and moved from home to home in Florida’s foster care system he began to perform at local talent shows and festivals. He gained the interest of local producers and starting working on demos.
In 2007 Random auditioned for the MTV series ‘Making the Band’ He was cast on the series, and named a finalist in 2008. Here he was able to home in on his craft and work with industry heavy hitters R&B superstar; Joe Thomas, Creative director to Nicki Minaj and Katie Perry; Laurie-Ann Gibson, Creative directive to Lady Gaga; Richard Jackson, Grammy-Award Winning Producer; Brian Michael Cox, and Hip Hop Mogul; Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. Soon after he gained much recognition with his online fan base, receiving more than 1.9 million plays on his Myspace music page.
Since Making the Band, Random was named by BMI as one of the Top 6 unsigned singer/songwriters in the nation as part of their “Know Them Now” social media contest. He also won the attention of Grammy-award winning producer Dallas Austin as part of his search for unsigned talent in 2011. Recently at a casting for Kelly Rowland, Frank Gatson; creative director to Beyonce’ Knowles, claimed, “(Random)…belongs in music. This is what he was born to do. He has an amazing talent and will definitely go far with that gift...”
Random currently resides in Los Angeles, California where he is prepping his debut EP. His debut single "Words" was released on September 22, 2013.
