Bio
Biographies, I think, are a lot like politics. They can say what you want to hear, but once it's time to make good on a promise, the proof is in the pudding. What I write here about myself will most definitely all be true, but it still feels weird to do so. Instead of the typical bio, here are a few facts:
1. I've won top honors in a few singer-songwriter and talent competitions, and didn't place at all in others. Here are some results:
-WINNER: Psalmwriter Competition (TX) - OCT 2015
www.wehopeevents.com/psalmwriter-competition-2015.html
-JUDGES' PICK: Tyler's Got Talent (TX) - JAN 2015

-WINNER: Ireland's Four Courts Open Mic Competition (VA) - NOV 2011

-FINALIST: T.I.M.E. Performing Songwriter Competition (TX) - NOV 2011

-FINALIST: Gypsy Market Battle of the Bands (TX) - OCT 2011

2. I was born in Dallas, the youngest of four. I still reside in Texas.
3. I've been deeply involved in music since 1988; writing songs since 1996.
4. I've played several types of instruments in various kinds of bands (including jazz, polka, and rock).
5. In 2001, I earned a B.S. degree in Music Education, with plans to be a public school band director. I taught for a short while until destiny pulled me towards the direction I'm going now.
6. Since 2005, I've been traveling throughout the USA by bus, plane, train, and automobile, leaving behind my aspirations as a music teacher to make it as a full-time, modern day troubadour and hopefully more.
7. Some of my musical influences include Stevie Wonder, Larry Norman, and Andre3000. I've been compared to Bill Withers, Curtis Mayfield, Seal, Lauryn Hill, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, and others.
8. A short list of SCHOOLS I've been invited to play for include:
-Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA)
-California State University - East Bay (Hayward, CA)
-Heartland Community College (Normal, IL)
-Stephen F. Austin State University (Nacogdoches, TX)
-Texas A&M University (College Station, TX)
10. True story, I actually did get a $325 citation for attracting a crowd with music, an incident which inspired "Play For Change" (now playing in the music player).
