Bio

"Singing is as important as Breathing".- Rachel Milne

"It has been a distinct pleasure creating "CELTS UNVEiLED" with Rachel. Her pure, inspired vocals and modern Celtic approach are fresh additions to a well seasoned genre and will be sure to appeal to a very wide audience." - Scott Ferguson

"A new, young singer on the rise with a great deal of determination and passion for presenting music of her heritage." -Vocal Artist & Educator, Jeri Brown

Rachel has taken traditionally Celtic and put her own flair to it. She is a cross between Celtic Woman and Brogue. She is equally at home singing Phantom of the Opera as she is singing Loch Lomond. Rachel's four octave angelic voice rings out sweet and pure.
Classically trained, she started singing at the age of two. There wasn't a school play, choir, or band that Rachel wasn't in. Family reunions were a favorite when she was able to gather around with her older cousins and sing, especially Peter Milne who sang with the Canadian Opera Company as well as the Stratford Festival in Ontario.
On Rachel's premiere cd " CELTS UNVEiLED", she brings all thirteen tracks to life. Jeri Brown friend and mentor encouraged her to go forth and put her voice on cd. With the help of Scott Ferguson she was able to recreate her vision.
From the Haugh of Glass in the Scottish Highlands Rachel's ancestors left the croft in the 1880's to immigrate to Canada. Scottish blood flows through her veins and this truely comes through in her singing. The emotion in Calendonia takes me back to those purple heather hills that I know and love so dear.
Drawing on inspiration from Celtic Woman, Moira Kerr, The Rankins and Brogue to mention only a few.
Working with Scott Ferguson, Lisa MacDougall, and all the Musicians was a fantastic experience as well as a learing experience. I'm sure everyone who hears it will enjoy it as much as I do.
