"compelling" - Jon Worley, Aiding and Abetting
"Brilliant." - Kevin Bronson - Buzzbands.LA
“A compelling blend of lyrical depth, solid grooves, cinematic elements and glimpses of 80’s synthpop all rolled into a crunchy electro-rock wrapper." - Ryan Stabile, LA EXAMINER
"One of the catchiest and most interesting tracks I've heard. The bass groove alone makes it impossible not to dance to and you can't help but sing along with the chorus. It demonstrates a good sense of song-writing showing that pop music can be both experimental and original, yet can also be extremely listenable at the same time."

Bio
PUBLIC JONES has been featured on: SPINNER.com, Buzzbands.LA, KCRW (LA), Recharged Radio (London), Los Angeles Examiner, Orange County Examiner, San Francisco Bay Guardian, AbsolutePunk, Skope Magazine, The Deli Magazine, HearHear, Large Hearted Boy, Parasites and Sycophants, Moheak Radio (LA), LP33, Faronheit, Aiding and Abetting, Cover Me Songs, and She Unlimited.
Public Jones began at the University of Miami, where two music and science nerds, Asghar Husain and Peter Kerekes, connected through their love of music and playing guitar, and their shared sense of disconnection with the world they grew up in.
Losing contact with each other post-graduation, their lives took very different directions. Peter moved to L.A. where he attended film school and composed music for games, commercials and television. Asghar began his gypsy quest for musical salvation in funk and rock bands from Miami to New York to San Francisco. Years later, thanks to the internet and a strange twist of fate, they reunited years later in a dark Studio City alley. With stories to tell, demons to exorcise and a sound in their heads, they began writing songs as Public Jones.
After releasing a six-song EP and getting airplay on KCRW, one of the largest indie radio stations in America, they took Public Jones live, and over 200 people showed up to their first show at The Confidential in San Diego, California. With Asghar on lead vocals, guitar and keys, and Peter on backup vocals and guitar, they recruited Toronto-based session and live bass player, George Nakonechny, and drummer Tre Beaudoin from Chicago, who continue to bring their vision to the stage.
The band believes in a constantly evolving live show, both theatrical and musical, which in the past has seen their stage personas vary from futuristic norteños to kilted henchmen.
Public Jones has played shows around the West Coast, UK, and Europe, most recently playing at South by Southwest, Make Music Pasadena Music Festival, the Promenade Music Festival, the Viper Room in Hollywood with wrestling legend Roddy Piper opening their show on his electric bagpipes, the California Music Festival, and in Berlin, Germany, with Tom Marsh from IAMX on drums. Berlin DJ Frankie Flowerz (Om Records) remixed their single, “Alright.”
Public Jones won the award for Best Alternative Artist at the 2010 Hollywood Music in Media Awards, held in Hollywood, California, and was voted The Deli Magazine’s artist of the month for March 2011. Since the release of their first full-length CD, “The Fall,” on January 10, 2012, which was featured on SPINNER.COM, Public Jones continues to garner increasing buzz worldwide.
