This songbird by way of Jacksonville has been making herself a popular fixture on the underground Atlanta music scene. Promise Ramsey had built a strong fan base in 2012 with her seductive ballads and steamy stage presence. Although Promise hasn’t reached airplay, a popular record from the singer/songwriter is “Body Count”. Promise previous collaborators include former Akon protégé R&B singer Ray Lavender and has shared the stage with another ATL breakout in B.O.B. Promise’s material is more soulful than your average R&B beauty, heavy influences of old-school R&B soul can be recognized in her sound. A brand of music that has been seriously lacking in today’s R&B. Over her three-year presence in ATL, the soulful songstress has released a previous project in The Pinky Project in 2010 and became a popular draw on the live music circuit. Back by a small loyal fan base, in 2013 anticipate a major push forward for Promise. She has been delivering a consistent of incredible music. A promising breakout record is her “Behind Closed Doors”, a brilliant sexually expressive ballad that Promise really takes charge on. After releasing What You Want as her debut single from her highly anticipate album dropping this year, singer/songwriter Promise has finally released the single's visual. The sexy songstress teamed up with TelFair Houston and Stainless Productions for the shoot.
Promise made sure to give the ladies a little eye candy in the video which is always a plus. The video captures Promise performing in a barber shop among other places, and ladies you KNOW the barber shop keeps a couple lookers on hand! Don't worry fellas.. she didn't leave you guys out.
This single is definitely GROWN and sexy, and the visual mirrors that. It's one of those records the DJ drops when he wants to slow things down & turn things up a bit. The bass in this CRAZY! I love a heavy hitting slow jam.
Promise is fresh off of her film debut in Joyful Noise, and while currently still working on her album-she continues banging out live shows as well! Recording artist Promise allowed her fans a behind the scenes peek at her SUPER HAWT photoshoot with the amazing photographer James Anthony. She killed this! She had the likes of my girlie celeb make up artist Miss Brie (I wuv my Brie!) on make up, the incredible Sonya Williams on hair (do yall see her hair? Gowageous!)- both of these ladies can rip a mic as well.. aka they can SANG! She was styled by Kathleen Vaughn Crosby... she had my girl looking soo cute! From the looks of this video, these photos are gonna be fresh! Also heard some new music while in NY yall. are. not. ready. She's coming soo hard, the stuff I heard was just..perfect, get ready.
Now for the hard part.. some of you all know that I used to sing background for Promise, but our relationship stemmed wayy beyond the stage. She is my sister. Ive sorta just watched her grow in soo many ways in the past few months. Its been amazing to see. She's uber talented.. you all dont even know the half, uber dedicated & equally beautiful, there is NO limit to where her career is gonna go from here. She recently moved from Atl to NY on a new journey, but she is still working on her music and you all know I will keep you posted! So excited for her!

Atlanta songstress Promise out of has snatched my musical heart. Her live performances are crazy. And, now she’s poised and ready to take over the game, her new song seems appropriate to debut.

This is the very beginning of a story about a PROMiSE. Not just any promise, you see, but one a mother wished for until ‘she’ came true. True story. And with a birth name of Promise, one can only have great expectations for this shining star. A young PROMiSE was introduced to the sounds of The Beatles, the star quality of Michael Jackson, and the vocal prowess of Mariah Carey, and a budding singer/songwriter/actor began to grow. After high school she decided that although Florida is the sunshine state, she needed to get her feet wet in a musical city. So she turned her headphones up, put Lauren Hill, Gwen Stefani, Erykah Badu, and Amy Winehouse on repeat, and moved to New York City where she vowed to become an artist. While in NYC PROMiSE worked to gain experience , promoting for Arista recording label and radio shows, writing sessions for artists, and even a production assistant on the acclaimed How Sweet the Sound tours.
Working with so many performing artists inspired PROMiSE to seek her sound in Atlanta, and expand her brand and talent. Atlanta proved to be a breeding ground for her creativity, and she began honing her writing skills and sound with producers and artists in the pop and urban genres. She released The Pinky Project EP, featured with G.O.O.D. Music, filmed a reality show about indie singer/songwriters, and then shocked her fans by appearing alongside Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton in the wildly successful feature film ‘Joyful Noise’. PROMiSE then found herself sharing the stage with amazing artists such as Miley Cyrus, Keke Palmer, Will.I.Am, and Sir Elton John, reuniting on tour with her Joyful Noise co-stars, and appearing on Jimmy Kimmel.
PROMiSE then realized that she wanted to write/sing songs with messages that could resonate with anyone. A gypsy at heart, PROMiSE traveled as far as Amsterdam to work with EDM producers, all the while knowing her path would eventually lead her towards Hollywood Boulevard. So, PROMiSE took her talent to LA and is now ready to release her upcoming EP entitled ‘MADE to LOVE’ to the world.
