Power Theory
Nearly a year after “Slay(ing) the Beast Within” with a new CD, the Tullytown heavy-metalers make their triumphant return to Championships Sports Bar and Grill (931 Chambers St., Trenton) Saturday night. Old school in a Judas Priest-arm-wrestling-James Dio sort of way, you can tell the guys are metal because that’s what their songs are about. For instance, “Insane (Metal’s Part Of My Brain)!” squeals the lyrics “I don’t care what they say, this feeling never goes away, insane is part of my brain, heavy metal flows through my veins.” For fans of Iron Maiden, ’80s Black Sabbath and Dokken. Show starts at 9. Cover Her Face, Exit and Horrifier play, too. Tickets cost $8. 21-plus. - Scott Frost "THE TRENTONIAN"
Metal Maniaxe Radio is featuring a true Metal band from the Philadelphia area called Power Theory (A Metal Maniaxe exclusive) they "ARE" a true metal band as as it says on thier EP.

Bio:
Power Theory was envisioned and created in 2007 by Bob “BB” Ballinger with the intention to form a True Metal band with a mix of the NWOBHM, 80’s German Power Metal, and a little bay area Thrash thrown in to shake it up.
The band blends myriads of melodic styles of True Heavy Metal, weaving their own unique style and musical sound scape.
The strength behind Power Theory is a penchant for creating heavy songs with dynamic range and lyrical deepness. Dave Santini (RiffRaff, Shatterbox, Monzterzero and Evil Jester) and Bob "BB" Ballinger (Colossus, Night Myst) have become like long lost brothers who've reunited, and found a missing extension of each other with a DÉJÀ VU like ability to write music together. The addition of Jason Tete (Aggressive Disorder) on bass completes a solid back line. Jason brings the classic metal bass player styling’s of Geezer Butler, Steve Harris, and Cliff Burton to the band. Also, Jason’s strong song writing skills balance the scales for continuity.
With the line-up and musical vision completely in-sync, the band recorded the demo “Metal Forever”, started playing what would amount 30+ shows in the next year and a quarter, and also started writing and recording the debut album “Out of the Ashes, Into the Fire”. Power Theory literally became a Tight Metal Machine playing live shows and transferring that energy into the recording studio.
Our music shares traits with Classic Heavy Metal, including use of complex compositional structures, odd time signatures, and intricate instrumental playing. The high level of musical proficiency is combined with a lyrical counterpart. Power Theory is now reaching out to their fan-base through their website at http://myspace.com/powertheorytheband, as well as various pages listed on the cover sheet. Visitors can sample tracks, catch up-to-date news, concert information, communicate with the band, download special recordings, and order CDs and Merchandise.
