Everything we heard about POST PROVOST's debut show at the Big Easy last week was aces. Risen from the ashes of East Wave Radio and less mired in the soil of jam reggae, the lush, poppy seven-piece apparently packed the joint last Saturday, which could be their sole live performance before the May release of Ancient Open Allegory Oratorio, their debut LP, which boasts contributions from a flood of notable local musicians. Post Provost is a new musical exploration driven by the music and creative songwriting of Dave Gagne, Sam Franklin, James Walsh and more. As a sort of natural continuation of the eternal side-project Canada Goose, and born from the ashes of EastWave Radio, Dave and Co. have finished a full length LP over this last winter. Engineered and produced by Mike McInnis and mastered by Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering, it is scheduled for release in May 2012.
