Bio
"Porschia" Mitchell
Independent Gospel Recording Artist
Her vocal styling and delivery have drawn comparisons to legendary Jazz vocalists Ella Fitzgerald and Ernestine Anderson, urban Soul icons Lauryn Hill, and Gospel/Neo-Soul favorite Lisa McClendon. Porschia’s music spans several musical genres including Jazz, Neo-Soul, R & B, Pop, and Rock. Born and raised in Savannah, GA, Porschia began singing in church at the age of five. However, it wasn't until years later that she realized the anointing and calling of God on her life. At the age of nineteen, Porschia fully dedicated her life to God. Her mission is to edify the body of Christ and inspire those who are lost with music that ministers to the soul. She has been given the ability to fuse the word of God with divinely inspired melodies. Porschia believes that God has called her to join the remnant of Levites who are responsible for returning ministry back to the Christian/Gospel music industry. This remnant, she believes, will reach ALL people by using music as a vehicle to spread the Sound of God to the nations.
Porschia’s debut release, Introducing Porschia, not only exposes listeners to her dynamic gift, but also invites listeners to worship God. From the Neo-Soul inspired arrangement of the favorite hymn The Solid Rock to the Rock inspired head banger Victory, Porschia ministers words of healing, deliverance, love, and encouragement through her music. Other album features include the praise and worship anthem None Like You, the hip-hop/R&B groove Psalm 20Three, the worship ballad John’s Song, Neo-soul/Jazz favorites Don’t Forget and Dwell, and the Myspace hit Can’t Stop The Flow. Porschia is a covenant partner with Real Life Christian Fellowship Church in Port Wentworth, GA.
