It was only a matter of time before the Jena 6 firestorm spilled over into music. And one Houston rapper is hoping to lead the way.
recently posted the tune Jena 6 on his Myspace music page. It's an attack against the media and chastises, among others, Britney Spears and OJ Simpson.
"Now I could care less about a dog fight/But let them boys get time/We gon' all fight," Gator raps over a rhythmic groove.

The Jena 6 has obviously incited lots of emotion. Was your first inclination to write a song?
I did not immediately think of writing a song. I did not know enough about the case to think that way. My brain started racing Tuesday morning at 4 a.m. I have insomnia.
How did it all come together?
It took me a few hours in all to write the song. Once I had enough knowledge about the case, ... I got upset. I did what I felt was important as an artist and as a person with a conscience. I enjoy writing music that has a message or deals with issues in the world.
What are your ultimate hopes for the song?
I just want people to hear the song and be influenced to learn more about the case and see what they can do individually and collectively to make a change and help out the families in Jena. Also, this is a reality check toward us as individuals and a reality check toward the media.
Will you be performing it live?
I plan on performing it next week at the Vault on Tuesday. I just may perform it Saturday at the block party hosted by The Urban Zone and Party 104.9 FM.
What kind of reaction have you gotten so far, if any?
A good number of people like the song, some of my close friends ... were blown away once they actually read up on (the Jena 6) after hearing the song. A few radio DJ's are trying to get it on the air. I'm here to reach the people.
I have to ask about the football helmet.
Well, I wear it because you never know when a fight may break out or a bird may fly above. I have been wearing this same helmet since 1999. I have changed the color three times. Most people either know me as Pinc Gator or the guy with the helmet. I perform with it on at times.

Pinc Gator is outrageous, over the top and pure hip hop! Representing the Dirty South by way of H-Town Gator puts on a shut yo mouth energy laced show! If P-Funk was an emcee they would call him Pinc Gator! Never a dull moment with this man. Helme Music all day.

Pinc Gator is from Humble (about 9 miles from Houston,depending on where u think Houston is). PG is a serious aspiring rapper/singer with an undeniable drive. PINC is very passionate about his music career, and finds himself in complete peace on stage performing.
He has been pursuing the music industry serously since 2006. He put out his first official single "Im A Que" establishing an instant following fraternally almost over night. Since then he has collaborated with a few well known artist such as: Wine-O, Chalie Boy, Killa Kyleon, Shaquille O'Neal, George (Mr. P-funk) Clinton, Mordecai, Lil KeKe, Greg T, D Mawl, Carlis P, J-Dawg, So Hollywood, Colby Bright, and Grammy nominee Kevin Mccall just to name a few. His main producers are Beanz N Kornbread who have been the sound to a majority of his recordings, and they also produced his albums "100 Years From Now", Divas and Pearls and Welcome To Gatorville. He also works and vibes well with Lexzyne Productons.
His style is extremely diverse and has the ability to reach people from all walks of life. He caters to everyone with a pulse. Also check out his street album "No Face Mask" produced by LexZyne Productions recorded at Dank Studios on datpiff and itunes. His latest project Divas and Pearls is truly his best work to date. He is also a dedicated mentor and motivational speaker to the youth throughout his community. He has a lane of his own, respect the Helmet.
