"Songs That Connect"

Peter Bloom’s honest songwriting and singing create an emotional bond with listeners that delivers song after song. Building with intensity rarely found in singer-songwriters today, Peter delivers stories that connect as if each song were written for the individual listener. His compelling live performances drive the connection with fans to a tangible level.

"Simply Gorgeous"

...This is simply gorgeous piano/orchestral-based pop, carried to the next level by Bloom’s insightful lyrics and full-bodied melodic sensibilities...
...Bloom has his feet planted firmly on the ground and the only tool he needs to impress here is pure musical talent, gloriously unleashed at last. - The Daily Vault - Album Reviews

"5 Stars Out Of 5"

...Peter Bloom is a singular talent. His Americana infused pop-rock should bring him much success in a perfect world...Random Thoughts comes with Wildy’s World’s highest recommendation. Peter Bloom is going places. You’ll want to be along for the ride.

Rating: Five Stars (Out of Five)

"Spring In Your Step"

Random Thoughts is an album that you can't help singing along to. Even though the melodies and lyrics are emotionally charged, the whole package will a spring in your step. - Music-Reviewer.Com

"A Rare Confidence"

...a confidence...that is rarely heard in music today. One of the first things that individuals will hear are the vocals, which possess a certain harmony that allows the voice to pull double duty – instead of just providing individuals with a set of lyrics, Pete’s vocals join together with the instrumentation to create something stronger than each piece taken separately...“Random Thoughts (From A Paralyzed Mind)” may be the band’s first full length CD, but the maturity exhibited will easily fool individuals into thinking that this is their fourth or fifth album. - Neufutur.Com

"Raw Energy and Pure Heart"

Raw energy and pure heart! That's a real performance that truly connects with the audience! - Dewey Beach Music Conference critique

"An Aching Heart Bleeds With Sincerity"

An aching heart bleeds out with sincerity. Bloom has an earnest touch that will win friends. - Glasswerk.co.uk Review

"Teeming With Beauty, Heart & Skill"

(Bloom's) voice belts out—teeming with beauty, heart, and skill. He channels UK singers like Bono, Tom Chaplin, Freddy Mercury, and Paddy Casey, while still staying true to his Canadian self. So play “Random Thoughts” while on a road trip—it’s perfect for getting lost in the music and the drive. - Anney E. J. Ryan - Skope Magazine

"Earnest as a Toronto Winter Day is Short"

For grown-ups keen to try Canadian pop but put off by all the oddball Montreal indie acts, the answer may come in the shape of Peter Bloom. Earnest as a Toronto winter day is short, Bloom makes sweeping piano pop redolent of late Beatles ballads or Chris Martin at his most thoughtful.
- CNET (Download.Com): Editor’s Review (October, 2007)

"Depth of Feeling"

This is one of the more accomplished debuts I've heard in a while. Straddling the border between a singer-songwriter vibe and energetic arrangements verging on power-pop, the Toronto-based Bloom and his band put across his well-constructed, catchy melodies and emotionally charged lyrics with easygoing confidence. Best of all, there's a nice variety of feels from song to song, from head-nodding pop-rock to sensitive balladry, and the ten tracks are solid throughout - it's not a case of one or two standouts and a bunch of filler. Bloom's high, liquid tenor is very appealing - boyish yet with depth of feeling. - Blog Critics Magazine - Eric Olsen

Bio

WINNER of Mike Pinder's Songwars 2010 ("Walls" - Alternative), GRAND PRIZE-winning artist on OURSTAGE.COM (August 2009), winner of the SONG OF THE YEAR international competition ("Let It Go" - August 2007, Pop category), winner of two 2007 TORONTO EXCLUSIVE MUSIC AWARDS (Best Rock Song - "Helping Hand", Best Rock Group), nominated for a 2007 ONTARIO INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARD for Best Rock Song ("Walls"), as well as runner-up in both the regional RADIO STAR 2007 and TORONTO INDIE WEEK 2006 singer/songwriter competitions, Peter Bloom's LIVE show has been described as "pure heart and raw energy" (2007 Dewey Beach Music Conference).

Bloom has shared the stage with notable artists, including UK star NEWTON FAULKNER, Scottish up-and-comer JAMIE KIMMETT, as well as his famous Canadian friends JUSTIN NOZUKA and JUSTIN HINES.

Montreal-born-and-raised, Bloom is FLUENT in ENGLISH and FRENCH, and has also studied Spanish, German and Italian over the years. He even had to do a "crash course" in Portugese on a flight over to Lisbon a few years back! Although he did not pick up the language as fluently as John Travolta in "Phenomenon", he did manage to throw in enough Portugese words to get directions, order food and drink, and deal with the car rental people after an little "accident"...OK the transmission actually fell out of the car, but that's beside the point.

Bloom's music can be summed up by a composite of critical blurbs describing his instantly memorable, crescendo-driven, Americana-rock-infused songs that "tug at the heart and shine with soaring vocals," that deliver "honest, intelligent and poetic lyrics."

Beyond the innumerable hours of writing and recording, Bloom also displays his musical "drive" by actually driving (repeatedly) to places such as NASHVILLE - 24 hours alone there and back for unsolicited promotional trips; or to DELAWARE - over 20 hours return for solo showcases! He has also showcased in VANCOUVER, BC, and LOS ANGELES...he FLEW to those ones!
