Serbia born guitarist Marko Pavic is the driving force behind the band Pavic, which got completes by four dudes from Italy incl. the singer Chris Catena which released his critically accalimed debut “Freak Out” featuring a bunch of great guest musicians in 2003. “Taste Some Liberty” offers a nice dose of melodic hard rock in the vein of Rainbow (Joe Lynn Turner period) with a couple of outstanding tracks like “Summer Of ‘98”, “Don’t Give Up On Your Dreams” or “Desperate Cry”, but I can see absolutely no need for the cover of the Supertramp classic “Logical Song”. Overall a solid release with guest appearnces from Kee Marcello (Europe), Tony Franklin (Whitesnake) and Vitalij Kuprij (Artension). - aorheaven.com
While Chris Catena fans wait patiently for the Italian rocker's next album, you can indulge in the debut from Catena's mate Marko Pavic.
The Pavic album is of a similar breed to Chris' own album and features a slew of special guests and of course Chris on lead vocals.
Taste Some Liberty is a melodic hard rock record with a strong European/Italian feel, especially in the accented delivery of the lead vocals.
It is a melodic rock record without being dated, or sounding too modern, but features influences from both sides. The guys deliver a fine sounding record – for an indie release this features a great production and a nice clear vocal/guitar sound.
Plenty of tricks on offer here – solos, riffing, some bluesy organ and at times over the top lead vocals. - Melodicrock.com
I don't know how artists like the Yugoslavian guitarist Pavic can obtain the collaborations of artist such as, Chris Catena, Kee Marcello,Vitalij Kuprij,Tony Franklin,Vivien Lalu. One thing is certain, Balkans have now another guitar hero along Nikolo Kotzev, Theodore Ziras but also a composer with significant abilities. This album is full of Deep Purplesque hard rock, of the highest caliber..Taking as your singer Catena, one of the best ancestors of Coverdale, provides you a strong support to tour the songs and deliverance that will please and the most difficult listeners. The whole effort comes as an amalgam of heavy and strong guitar playing and classic influenced hard rock, that is enforced by Pavic composing skills. He writes and performs songs more as a composer and secondly as guitarist,an advantage in our age of shred guitar heroes who can't pen a decent tune. His cover of RAINBOW "death alley driver" points once again his influences and his guitar playing skills and leaves pleasant feelings and expectations for his next move. The second cover is that of SUPERTRAMPS'S "Logical song'. This gets out of the usual hard rock covers giving the album an extra power point. .This album is a step, a crucial one, for a musician who can be one of the major forces in the melodic hard rock movement in Europe for the next years.

Bio
Founded by guitarist Marko Pavic flanked with Aleks Ferrara on bass and Lorenzo Antonelli keyboards, PAVIC released the debut "Taste Some Liberty" in late 2005. The album, distributed throughout Europe, is well acclaimed in Italy and other countries by the critic who exalts the artist's songwriting and Marko's skill not to lapse into a boring technicality encouraging listening to the songs. The debut was enriched by the presence of outstanding musicians such as Kee Marcello, guitar (Europe), Tony Franklin, bass (Blue Murder, Whitesnake), Vitalij Kuprij, keyboard (Artension, Ring Of Fire) and Daniel Flores, drums (Mind's Eye). 2008, PAVIC are back with “Unconditioned”, the band's second release. “Unconditioned” was mixed by producer Tobias Lindell at Bohus Sound Studio (Abba, Status Quo) Sweden and mastered by Dragan Tanaskovic (Evergrey, Meshuggah, In Flames, Goran Edman). Guest appearance by Kee Marcello (Europe) on a track "Just Go On". "Unconditioned" is exploring new musical directions for Pavic, a mix between classic and modern Rock/Metal.
