San Francisco Bay area MC Paulie Rhyme and producer Deedot have gotten together to release "Public Radio" on Browntown Wreckords. Paulie has made a name for himself in hip hop band Finless Brown while Deedot has been producing tracks out in the Bay for a minute now.
I'd been hearin' about Paulie since back in the day. He has worked with lotsa artists (oddjobs, heiruspecs, & DJ Lord Jazz to name a few), and a few months ago he blessed me with a solo EP called "The PDA," that got a little action on Hip Hop Flavors radio. Now he is hitting the world up with a more fully realized album than anything I've heard from him so far. Deedot's production smooths out some of the rough edges on Paulie's delivery and flow. The message is a mixture of both the positivity and paranoia within hip hop culture that has seemingly been there since the beginning. Paulie somehow lyrically melds equal parts Grand master Flash's "The Message," and "The Show" from Doug E. Fresh without getting lost in the dichotomy. No mean feat to pull off.
Of course if I'm gonna be really real here I gotta admit I woulda posted this up regardless because Paulie features one of my favorite emcees, Rasco, from one of my favorite West Coast groups, The Cali Agents! Tough to go wrong when Rasco blesses the track on "Block 4 Block."
Then we also get a treat from the banger "Komodo Spit" that features Khai of Lunar Heights!

``Public Radio''
Label: Browntown Records.
Genre: Hip-hop.
Kizer: ``Paulie Rhyme of Finless Brown and producer Deedot have created an album that is a tribute to all the great things about hip-hop. With Paulie rocking the mic and Deedot making the beats, this San Francisco duo has an amazing creative chemistry. Deedot's beats blend classical piano, percussion, guitar riffs and tons of other elements for a fresh sound. The rhymes are mostly repping the Bay Area and speak of the downfall of hip-hop and its resurrection.''

Bio
PAULIE RHYME (Paul Richardson) is a Bay Area based; Cleveland bred emcee, giving people music that touches mind, body, spirit, and soul. Putting in work in the indie circuit for a good portion of this decade, Rhyme has worn many hats in the industry before finding his calling in front of the mic. As front man for live alternative Hip Hop outfits FINLESS BROWN and MILES OUTSIDE, Paulie Rhyme would hone his craft and his style on the stage and on the road, doing shows in the US, Canada, and Japan. This would show itself in the release of the 12s WHERE DO WE GO with DJ LORD JAZZ and DUSK TILL DAWN with PRINCE PO, as well as LESS THAN ZERO, a project presented by acclaimed tastemaker, radio/mix tape DJ MICK BOOGIE (VIVA LA HOVA, SIRIUS) that features collaborations with RAASHAN AHMAD (CCR), KEELAY & ZAIRE, KING MOST (Plug Label), KNOBODY (Hieroglyphics), and DJ VINROC.
Being based in the BAY AREA, CA would prove to be an invaluable experience for RHYME, and in 2007 RHYME would release PUBLIC RADIO, a collaborative effort with SF producer DEEDOT, featuring appearances by RASCO (Cali Agents), NATE KROOKS, and MOTO. PUBLIC RADIO would hit #9 on the CMJ Hip Hop charts, and the single, SQUARED CIRCLE, was nominated as 2009 Hip Hop Song of the Year by Just Plain Folks. 2009 also saw release of the DJ SLY project, BEYOND IT, with PAULIE RHYME featured on the single "LIKE YOU" with KAORU, which reached 4 on ITunes Japan Top Hip Hop Chart, with the album reaching 10 on the Hip Hop Album Chart. RHYME would continue to plant his roots in the international market working with Austrias SOUNDTRUCK, Canadas ATHERTON, Norways HANDYCAT, Japans TOFUBEATS, and delving into the Dubstep/DnB arena with SUBLIFE RECORDINGS LUKEINO and the song, THE KEY.
Not one to rest on his laurels, RHYME is currently promoting his latest project, the JOSE MATEO Ep, as well as working on upcoming projects with MILES OUTSIDE, REY RESURRECCION, JACK DA RIPPA, PRINCE PO, and a sequel to LESS THAN ZERO with MICK BOOGIE..
