Not every life is easy, not every moment is hard, not every note is perfect, but when you have the strive, your every dream can come true. A country boy from Lake Charles, Louisiana is making his life troubles into his dream. Landon Parker (Parker Tha Ghost), grew up with some typical family issues, but they gradually increased as he got older, eventually even led to him living in his car if he couldn't find a friend to "hang with" for a couple of days. He has had over fifteen, good paying jobs, from car salesmen to selling time shares, but without any musical involvement he couldn’t survive. Unfortunately without a co-signer, he couldn’t get out of Lake Charles. Thankfully for us, when things seemed to be once again reaching record lows ("another time I was homeless, haha!"), his mother helped him get a loan to attend Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Parker’s natural knack for writing stories and releasing frustration through poems, and his constant urge to "enlighten listeners with knowledge....and help them become more self aware", brought him to his current inspiring lifestyle.
When Parker was around twelve or thirteen years old his friend from school played him the song “The Way I Am” by Eminem, and something happened, he “vibed to the song and related to it on a different level”. Seeing that there could be a way to release his stress about life, his musical journey began. From adding extra words and twists to Eminem songs, to writing his own poems, and eventually creating his own music, his own style, and developing his own group called Da Block Productions. With originally only three members (Beast, King, and Parker), DBP now has over six artists and has also helped create While You Were Sleep Entertainment (WYWS) along side Parker's fellow artist and friend, Dom P.
Parker is more than an aspiring artist, he is more than another cliché “white boy trying to play Eminem”, he is a driven young adult, with pure, raw talent. Parker’s music is described in his words as "unique", "thought provoking", and “anything that can drive raw emotion out of the listener.” Parker's recent achievements include climbing the Orlando Hip Hop charts, becoming partner with YouTube.com after only five episodes of his weekly rap cyphers (Heat Of The Week), and signing a digital distribution deal with Klassiq Kliq Records. Parker [Tha Ghost] has a growing fan base that has spread to twenty four states, and four different countries, he hopes that with his increase in fans, he could eventually be heard and respected by Hip-Hop legends.
The one quote that has kept Parker going is,”The elevator to success is broken, you must take the stairs, one step at a time” The most exciting part of the interview that I had with Parker was him describing his musical success. “You can Google me...I've got about ten pages now!”, he is so excited about all the projects that he has, here in Orlando, that he doesn’t want to even consider stopping until he “has a foot in every door of the entertainment industry”; but even after that he doesn’t believe he can ever stop performing, writing, rapping, or just being Parker [Tha Ghost].
