Parents With Angst, the husband and wife team formerly known as Amelia’s Dream, features standout songs inspired by their first-hand journey raising their preschooler, Adam. The New York City-based duo, consisting of singer/songwriter Amelia S. Gewirtz and musician/songwriter/producer Harold Stephan, breaks ground in the new arena of parenting music. With hints of folk rock and family-inspired tunes, the songs on Parents With Angst creates an undeniable connection with listeners.

Harold Stephan reveals, “The songs really came organically out of being parents. Amelia is one of these songwriters who is really prolific, just writing about her experiences. Since our son was born she had been writing songs about the good and the bad. We realized we had a nice body of work and thought we should record them.”

The Parents With Angst debut CD No More Time releases May 3, 2011. In conjunction, the pair unveiled a web-based parenting music radio station via their site www.ParentsWithAngst.com. “We’re in the process of trying to create a category called, ‘Parenting Music,’ because there isn’t one,” Amelia Gewirtz divulges. In creating the parenting radio station, she adds, “Our goal by the time we’re done with it is to have a new category created.”

Their website also provides an educational component featuring video interviews with parenting experts and celebrities who discuss key topics regarding raising children. Throughout these webisodes, select songs from the CD related to the topics discussed are seamlessly interwoven. Beyond these impressive undertakings, Parent With Angst plans to perform in several venues throughout the U.S. in 2011.

The road to their parenting project began in 1992 when Harold and Amelia met at a songwriting class in New York City. With skilled musicianship they started collaborating, creating Amelia’s Dream and finding success with three CDs of songs about the trials and tribulations of life prior to parenthood. Their soaring careers and extensive catalog of songs have been featured prominently in the media world, including the Disney-ABC family film, “Everything You Want,” the Disney Channel series, “In a Heartbeat,” and various productions on MTV, Lifetime Network, and more.
