PRESS RELEASE:
The Los Angeles indie and alt-rock band billed as Paperfox have released their debut EP record, “Dreamcatcher.” The extended-play album is composed of five original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 20 minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release without support
from the corporate music industry. Poppy, danceable, upbeat and highly melodic, “Dreamcatcher” is
a record which defines the sound, personality and character of the youth of today, and proves that the
spirit of indie music in Southern California continues to thrive.
Hailing from LA's Silverlake area, Paperfox (often stylized PAPERFOX) cite as main artistic
influences such contemporary indie-rock heroes as the 1975, Fall Out Boy, Vampire Weekend, Arctic
Monkeys, Young the Giant, Two Door Cinema Club, and Kings of Leon. As might be intuited from
such a list, their own sound fits naturally among the tones of these widely popular bands. Every track
on “Dreamcatcher” is a shoo-in for radio play, a single just waiting for public attention to focus on it.
That Paperfox's first record is so easy to imagine being played in cars all along the Santa Monica Fwy
is no accident. Paperfox writes of their artistic vision, “None of us have ever played this style of music.
All of us come from different musical backgrounds spanning from hardcore, straight-edge, emo, pop-
punk, screamo, and other bands from the 'Warped Tour' scene... But just recently, [we] decided to see
what was constantly spinning on the radio and heard bands like Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend,
Capital Cities, Arcade Fire, and thought, there's a market for this, so why not?”
Paperfox are also true representatives of the DIY music underground. Not only was “Dreamcatcher”
written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band themselves, but also the digital
marketing, promotion, web design, social media marketing, and shirt designs were executed by the
members of the band, too. With gumption and ability like this in equal parts, Paperfox won't be
confined to the hipster Mecca of Silverlake for long.
“Dreamcatcher” by Paperfox is available online worldwide.

Sometimes, I am approached by bands. And I am inherently lazy so I ignore them.
However, Los Angeles's recently formed Paperfox is an exception and I implore you to make them your exception as well.
For fan of Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Capital Cities, Two Door Cinema Club. Put it through an Orange County tube and add a dash of 311. I know that seems like a weird combo, but that's where my thoughts went at least.
They are planning on taking over the world starting with Silverlake (which they can have BTW. Take Williamsburg and Portland next).
Keep your eye on these guys, though! They have some real talent. - Britt Kemp

Bio
PAPERFOX is a brand new Indie Rock band from Los Angeles CA, who have
managed to release their debut single, a music video for their cover of
Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home’, and finish tracking their debut EP,
all while having to work full time, go to school, or complete a mission
on Grand Theft Auto V.
With all of these accomplishments in
such little time, there’s no doubt this group will be hitting the music
scene full force with their dance-y, energetic, hipster rock tunes - But
here is the catch:
“I have never sung in a band before” says 21 year old singer/guitarist
Richard Leon. “I’m actually a drummer, but this will be my first time
fronting a band.”
“None of us have ever played this style of music.” says newly added
drummer Christian Edusada. “All of us come from different musical
backgrounds spanning from hardcore, straight-edge, emo, pop-punk,
screamo, and other bands from the ‘Warped Tour’ scene, but I had never
thought to join a band like this one. But just recently, I decided to
see what was constantly spinning on the radio and I heard bands like
Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Capital Cities, Arcade Fire, and I
thought, there’s a market for this, so why not?”
That’s not the only twist this band has to offer:
Everything heard on their debut EP releasing on September 2nd, was
written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band themselves.
Every form of graphic created, digital marketing, promotion, web
design, social media marketing, and even shirt design, was all executed
by the members of the band. PAPERFOX is truly a DIY project.
It’s very clear in their music that they infuse influences from the
‘Warped Tour’ market with the ‘Indie-Alternative’ style, and that is
what separates them from notable artists that are out today. Their
single “Everything You Knew” is familiar dance-y and upbeat tune, while
other songs on their debut EP have sudden changes in tempo and rhythm
patterns that will definitely keep the listener entertained.
Make sure to keep an eye on PAPERFOX, as they will soon be taking over every major city, starting with Silverlake.
