I was surfing the net this week to find a band to feature. Wait a minute! Does anyone "surf" the net anymore? Or is that a 90's term? Anyway, I noticed that the "Once Bitten, Twice Shy", GREAT WHITE is playing at Dexter's in Riverdale, NJ this Friday night, September 19, 2008. I figured, might as well check out who's opening for them, and I came accross this great band out of somewhere here in North Jersey - their name is OUR BLACK FRIDAY. They're a modern alternative/hard rock band who's singer has a style and identity all his own. The tracks I got to hear, "Trip With Me", "See You There" and my favorite and an extremely radio-friendly song called "Break Away". The singer Eddie Territo's voice is raw and fits this band's music perfectly. That's without taking anything away from the great songwriting, of course!
Enough about Eddie... rounding out the rest of Our Black Friday is guitarists Scott Williams and Jimi Alan, bassist Sean Ordner and drummer Zac Treby. Keep an ear on this band as you will certainly be hearing more from them VERY SOON!!

"See You There" and "It Ain't Yesterday" have been featured on NJ Radio WDHA and WSOU while an early DEMO version of "Trip With Me" was made into a video feature getting more than 100,000 views on www.foundrymusic.com.

Those who are familiar with the personalities in this band understand one thing... we are musicians and songwriters who are determined to take our music to the masses.
The band has been called "a new breed akin to an Alice in Chains meets the Stone Temple Pilots" - and we have been compared to Creed and The Foo Fighters as well in terms of our sound, style and songwriting.
Every so often a band comes along and is fortunate to possess the necessary components to make it all work. A "band of brothers" so to speak - a group of people who share common goals between themselves for a greater good. They are willing to compromise and sacrifice more than most in order to achieve those goals. Combine that with some amazing musicians and a soulful vocalist who has his own identity and you are almost there. Then comes the most important part... making music that will be noticed by fans, recognized by peers and remembered by many. Our Black Friday believes with every conviction that this formula exists within this band.
OBF is a "no-frills" hard rock sound with constant melodic feel. That theme has been the genesis in building a unique catalog of songs that differ greatly from track to track. The only thing we prefer more than making the music itself... is performing it LIVE! The energy we put out on stage is only compounded by the energy thrown right back at us from the crowds - it's pure melodic mayhem!
We seperate ourselves from other bands by writing the music we write and playing live shows the way we play - as always this is subjective so we ask that YOU be the judge and check it out for yourself.
