Oscar Jimenez

Known as the charismatic and energetic lead singer of ARIA nominated band Watussi, Oscar has given full voice to his solo aspirations with his first single "Isabela". Which has been selected winner of the International Songwriting competition in the Latin category (http://www.songwritingcompetition.com/winners).
This achievement plus his recent tour with spanish superstar Manu Chao sets a good start for the release of his debut solo EP "Distancia". A compilations of songs soulfully inspired by his latin roots, family traditions and memories created by the distance, telling the story of his journey through his own voice.

Born and raised in Colombia, Oscar moved to Australia in 2000 and found in Sydney’s multicultural music scene the nurturing soil that would allow the seed of his childhood dream flourish.

With his band Watussi, Oscar has toured internationally to many renowned music Festivals such as Womad (NZ), Ulsan World Music Festival (Korea), Festival Iberoamericano (Colombia), Rainforest World Music Festival (Malaysia), making him a very well travelled artist with much experience with audiences of different cultures.
