Bio

Open Relationship started as an all girl band of novice musicians. They have a lo-fi, no nonsense approach that is representative of their d.i.y. ethics and fresh sense of humour. Their first show was played on a backyard skate ramp in the summer of 2010. Since then, they have been through 3 bass players, 2 vans, 3 self-released cassettes, 1 self-released vinyl EP, and 1 cross Canada tour (summer 2012).

In their hometown of Victoria, BC, they continue to play regularly, averaging two shows per month that range from small basement shows to 300+ capacity nightclubs, while comfortably appearing on the same bills as BA Johnston, Mean Jeans, legendary Scottish anarcho-punk band Oi Polloi and everyone in between, including pals Slam Dunk, Babysitter, Freak Heat Waves, and Needles//Pins.

Their self-recorded and self-released EP, "Born Weird" (2012), gained some attention on the earshot shots (reaching #1 on both CFUV and CiTR) and earned them positive reviews from various blogs, including weirdcanada. Open Relationship has recently finished recording a second EP which will be self-released on vinyl in spring 2013, followed by a couple of tours that same summer.
