Old Deer Ensemble is a band that specializes in playing roots based music for festive occasions. Formed by Eric McElveen in 2017 (Sterling Stage festival producer/promoter and bassist for Tim Herron Corporation), the group's sound is a gumbo pot of influences...from first wave psychedelic americana (Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers) to classic era Jamaican reggae, ska, and rocksteady. Lyrically, the band's original material is a blend of spiritual, social, and community conscious story telling that leaves the listener with infectious choruses of happy messages running through their heads.
