The music retained the quiet intensity and dramatic tension and easily pulled me in. The vocals with their icy sense of quiet which can firmly move into great depths. There is intricacy in the music that reminds me of Sweden's Efterklang. - DC Rock Live
With the blending of cello, violin, synth and drum tunes, accompanied by the soft ray of background lights, one could have dozed off into their own magical-childlike-Narnia fairytale. - Provokator
Ocean Versus Daughter combine piano, cello, synth and drums to create an emotional richness that is tender and edifying without being mawkish. Fans will be pleased to know that the band's debut "Slightly Parted" delivers the same shiver up the spine in the studio as they do on stage." - Czech Position
Prague's favorite symphonic keyboard-driven pop band, Ocean Versus Daughter, play their first Prague show of the autumn this week. Singer and keyboardist Flanna Sheridan leads the band, with her velvet voice and intelligent lyrics blending humor, poignancy and passion. The band's layered depth features violin, cello, drums and synthesizer and creates a sound as unique as it is inspired. The band has just returned from a tour of Germany and will certainly be enthusiastic for their hometown audience. See them before they are famous. - The Prague Post
Dreamy but never droney, Prague-rockers Ocean Versus Daughter are really good at the achingly beautiful thing. Things tend to start simply and starkly, maybe just the American-born Flanna Sheridan's snow-angelic voice, some strings, a little piano. But as the melody expands and the sound adrenalizes with riffs and beats, pretty new sonic worlds open up. Smart stuff to sway to. - Philadelphia City Paper
Sheridan's intricate, driving piano and voice is at the center of this densely layered mix - all innocence and experience at once, like a church choir singer with a broken heart. - The Prague Post
