The sounds of nubambu are as diverse as its cross-cultural musicians. All are veteran seasoned musicians who have been playing in the Chicago music scene for a long long time. Influences range from different urban corners of the world. Rob is from France raised in Venezuela and living in Chicago since 1996, Jason is from Jamaica raised in Miami and Iowa, Lazaro is from Cuba living in Chicago since the 80's, Topo, Silo and Primitivo are from Chicago of Puertorican heritage, Dalila is from the Pacific coast in Colombia. A blend of different styles and rhythms make this music unique and infectiously danceable. Its hard not to dance while watching nubambu perform. Bilingual, street-smart and cutting-edge lyrics with a twist that fuse together diferent styles and is practically futuristic when combined. This concept of creating a new urban fusion Reggae Rumba developed out of musical experiments started in Rob's and Jason's former band: Bambu. Visionary devotees of both Latin and Reggae music they figured out a way to unite their musical passions and genially coaxing an impressive danceble fusion.
