I've been playing music in one form or another since 1998. I started writing songs for piano and singing, then found my way into experimental electronic music; eventually I started combining the two. My current act consists of piano and synthesizers, processed through various guitar pedals and filters. I consider Steve Reich and Laurie Anderson and the band Suicide to be big influences, but the full list is much longer. In Calgary, I've made regular appearances at Discord and Bug Incision experimental noise nights (myspace.com/403noise, www.bugincision.com). In Vancouver I've played Weirdness Night at the Biltmore Cabaret a few times, and Fake Jazz Wednesdays at the Cobalt. I worked with visual artist Scott Rogers on his art-installation/performance piece "Incantation", which premiered at ArtCity 2009. I collaborated with Wayne Garrett and Amanda Dawn Christie to perform a live soundtrack for film during the closing night of the 2010 Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers' (CSIF) $100 Film Festival. In December '10 I began organizing the No Face experimental music series, which is ongoing. I have most recently performed as part of the band 4-Star Dungeon at Soundasaurus, a presentation of the High Performance Rodeo, in January '11.
