Noosa

Noosa makes her home in the remote north of Canada in the character-filled gold rush town of Dawson City, Yukon. Pugnacious yet soulful, the characters in Noosa's songwriting are sometimes real but often imagined, and she inhabits her stories with a narrative style that is expressed fully through her deliberate, buttery vocals.

Alt-country mixes with gutsy working-girl blues on her debut album, Wild North, produced by former Ian Tyson and Great Western Orchestra instrumentalist, Nathan Tinkham.

Her vocal style is influenced by such old-timers as Ray Charles and George Jones, and by Canadian greats like Colin James and Frazey Ford, and is inspired by life in the remote but vibrant town of Dawson City.

A seasoned performer, Noosa's recent solo career has taken off this year, and after being in high demand for the summer 2013 season in Dawson, she has since taken her show on the road, touring back and forth across the country, happily, with no end in sight.

She has showcased a number of times this year, and is set to appear at Grand Ole Northern Opry in Whitehorse, Yukon this winter.
