Noel L is an unabashed, seriously leggy, leopard-skin-shirted artist from Thousand Oaks, greater L.A.- and a pretty difficult catch judging from her lyrics. With a round, hearty vocal presence that would slot her well in the Amy Winehouse, Lilly Allen, and Sharon Jones R&B revival outbreak-if her heart wasn't instead in a modern soul influenced clamorous piano-pop and rock-and the confidence to write and play everything except drums, she'd easily overpower anyone either weak-kneed or transparently bogus. Blame Amy Winehouse. Her bad behavior has extracted her presence from the pop world, right after reacquainting same with the wonders of soul-tinged, emotional, well-produced and beautifully sung tunes breaking through the corporate-manufactured clones on the charts.
