Blame Amy Winehouse. Her bad behavior has extracted her presence from the pop world, right after reacquainting same with the wonders of soul-tinged, emotional, well-produced and beautifully sung tunes breaking through the corporate-manufactured clones on the charts.

The world suffered mightily and bridled at the status quo of disconnect between young music fans with their burgeoning maturity of tastes versus aforementioned chart clones. With the head vitually cut off, the Winehouse hydra at least spouted a spate of talented new faces, such as Duffy, Adele and others emerging to fill the market this very second.
