The Duo ~
Seth Phillips - singer/songwriter - acoustic guitar
The music of Nobody, et al. is focused around the dynamic, storytelling songwriting of singer/guitarist Seth Phillips. He is a New York City transplant to the Arizona desert.
His arsenal and array of songs is astounding. He defines successful lyrics as those that physically affect the listener. Perhaps a grin, blush, or tear. Sometimes a chill or tingle.
Brian McClain - electric cello.
Brian roots the foundation with the unique tonal qualities that only an electric cello can provide. From pizzicato bass lines to playful harmonies, including, but not limited to haunting legato undertones, his style is an idyllic match with Seth's diverse songwriting and genuine approach.
The et al. ~
Our flex power yields exponential results to our sound. We implement saxophone, clarinet, flute, Kalimba, mandola or other unique acoustic instruments into tasteful lead and melodic roles when playing as a trio. Hand percussion or full drum kit rounds out the act when the full band fits the bill.
Marco Rosano - tenor sax, clarinet
Simply put, Marco enhances out act with tasteful melodies and harmonies that absolutely serve the lyrics. Marco counts English as his second language, with music as his native tongue - the half-dozen Tucson projects that boast his contribution would tend to agree.
Jim Howell - drums
Voted Best Drummer several years running at the Tucson Music Awards. His ability to weave simple, clever rhythms together without ever dropping the beat serve as cement for the the solidly-crafted songs of Nobody, et al.
We have additional all-pro lead players and/or percussionists based in Tucson, Phoenix, New York, and Los Angeles.
