"Live Show review"

“Thursday, Jan. 27 @ The Max Canada The Max Canada , if awkwardly positioned venue for both a smooth, funky R&B outfit from Atlanta, and Athens’s premier MC. With no need for a last name, NOAH stormed into Athens with honey-smooth vocals and some impressive instrumental chops to match. Joined by a soaring electric guitarist, drummer and conga player, NOAH showed off his jazz background on the keyboards all night, riffing in the high-end one moment only to leap across the ivories and hammer home gorgeous, low-end chords that at times worked almost like a walking bassline. Every song seemed to build to an epic conclusion, whether via NOAH’s vocal gymnastics (comparable to Maroon 5’s Adam Levine) or his guitarist’s skyrocketing, Funkadelic-flavored solos. This is an act that could play the the Variety Playhouse, New Earth Music Hall, or even Aftermath if they were so inclined, and that’s a pretty exciting prospect for both Atlanta and Athens. ” - david fitzgerald - wonder.lab (flagpole)

"Live show review"

“Friends, Family, People of the jury, Noah Pine has a mysterious groove and I find it vital to spread his word. I have been listening to Noah ever since high school. Noah’s expression of music seems to have melted down to the core of what makes a spectacular tune. There is never too little nor too much in his music. The life experiences, your first kiss, the drop of sweat tickling your spine, a dog barking, all the things that make up this world Noah is able to see through the eyes of music. His voice is an organic style that is hard to come by these days. With breakdowns in songs like “standing on the sunset”, we can all acknowledge these guys are damn good at what they do. Upon hearing “Noah vibe” I couldn’t help but to think I have actually found something new, fresh, crisp, and damn original. Check out Noah’s myspace for his philosophy, well known artists he has accompanied on stage, and of course the grooves. Your Servant, mervtone. ” - Daniel Mervis - mervtones

Bio

Atlanta-born Noah Pine(28) lives, breathes, creates, and performs music. Banging out Boogie Woogie and Michael Jackson in his mom's Oldsmobile wagon at six; by ten he was studying under the well known jazz heavyweight, Ted Howe, as his youngest student. He studied with Ted for the next 8 years. By 14 Noah was already playing keys at the local blues BBQ - Fatt Matt's or the Hammond B3 at the Northside Tavern or sneaking into Churchill Grounds to play piano jazz with the old school. He led a cool jazz trio playing fancy venues like Sambuca on those hot Atlanta nights. At 18 he left to tour, opening for bands like Maroon 5. He later moved to LA, and took in and studied the “west coast sound”. He made it his own- weekly gigs in Beverly Hills with Harry Dean Stanton ("Big-Love/Repo Man") or playing mellow jazz for Chrysler Corporation’s Lee Iacocca in his Beverly Hills home. He played gigs in Venice Beach with his group "The Marsh." Now back in Atlanta, Georgia, Noah continues to make a name for himself as an excellent composer (60 songs in the last 18 months), session player in the studio, and singer- performer on stage with his own groups. Noah has composed and copyrighted over 60 songs in the last two years alone. His sounds are old school, but very rich and urban, and the vibes have even been described as “Michael Franks-meets-Beck” to Elton John, Joe Cocker, Van Morisson, Tom Waits. His songs are stories and inspired by current events, or whatever he is reading - Hemingway, James Michner. "Music should be uplifting-from the soul." -says Noah. That music is Noah's journey and will always be the engine of his life's vibrations – and sometimes life is straight-ahead, soulful, funky, and frankly – pretty eclectic.
