Nikki Kelly is a wonderful singer/songwriter from New Mexico. What caught our attention on Nikki was her vocals and her deep lyrics. Nikki put out her first album in April of 2008. One of our favorite tracks is "Franklin." Nikki is multi talented when it comes to playing instruments as well. On her album she played vocals, guitar, piano, accordion, ukelele, percussion, and more. Another great track is "Do Do Do." This track has a mellow tempo that Nikki sings over in an ultra sensual manner. Nikki describes herself as a mix of Feist, Mazzy Star, and Tom Waits. We can see that for sure, but we also feel Nikki will find her own niche and create her own lane in the folk genre. You also cannot discount that Nikki's attractive looks make it easy for her to draw you in on many levels. - Skopemag.com

Kelly has a CD and it's down to earth Dido acoustic folk. She's the real deal- talented and genuine.
CD Review: 3- thumbs up! - http://www.wuviradio.com/home.htm
“Albuquerque’s Nikki Kelly sounds like she just woke up. Her sleepy, raspy and understated vocals set up the scene for everything she crafts instrumentally. Kelly plays guitar, piano, accordion and ukulele on her self-titled release, but the record is hardly cacophonous. Subdued folk keeps its cool and the biggest surprises come when Kelly’s voice shoots high into the air. Lyrically, Kelly covers boredom, smoking and all matter of relationship troubles. She has a quiet, self-assured delivery and enough patience to stay away from overreaching. Her songs shun gaudy ornamentation—their simplicity is their greatest strength.” (SM) - The Albuquerque Alibi V.18 No.25 | June 18 – 24, 2009
