Nick Sumner

Texas-born singer/songwriter, Nick Sumner, hit the New York City music scene as lead singer and guitarist in a hard-hitting rock trio who, in 2012, were part of SXSW, the first annual CBGB Music & Film Festival, and were the opening act for Slash with Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators at the Hammerstein Ballroom.  This year, so far, Nick has been to SXSW as a solo performer, and has a small tour in the works for later this summer.

Hes since taken a step back from the band life and is taking a much more introspective approach to performance. Being a solo songwriter is nothing new to Nick, but performance with other musicians has been a mainstay for most of his career. His intimate performances elicit energy from the audiences that he feeds off of, making every moment of every show unique.

This year has already offered some wonderful events, including a performance in Austin, TX for SXSW, this time as a solo artist, and the release of a solo EP, which includes a cover of R.E.M.s The One I Love. Look for Nick in the coming months to release more music, and even leave the borders of New York City for a summer tour.
