Bio
Signed as an artist to EMI Music Publishing (Ether) in Los Angeles (2001), Nick has travelled, performed and written music around the world. From 2002-2009 he composed the music & sound for a number of Theatre, Film & TV projects. Most notably his scores for award winning films like “Katoomba” and “The Mechanicals” to name a few. His TV scores have been heard most recently on Ch. 9 and Foxtel in crime show “C.I.A”
His music and writing skills are diverse and range from beautiful and moving classical scores for Film and TV to hard edgy electronic tracks (see www.nickarnold.com.au) to his newly anticipated 5 track EP “from the trees I see a circus” which is a stripped back and extremely honest folk sounding work consisting of guitar, vocals and harmonica.
Constantly trying to push his own boundaries in song writing and styles of music to communicate with people, Nick sources his inspiration from personal stories and interactions and also his passion for the environment. He has recently signed up with literary agent Rusherfield for a series of environmental kids books aged at 4-5 year olds. The story of a young Japanese jellyfish that travels the oceans.
His music has a raw honesty and beauty that bares a depth you feel when you know that something is pure and truthful. He can hold you with his voice, and the stories he tells, or with his string arrangements, or the beautifully simplistic tracks of his EP where a lonely harmonica howls through his music.
You can feel his emotions churning and searching for answers.
It will move you.....and it will make you think.
