Bio

Nick Lamar is a Los Angeles based singer, songwriter and producer.  With the release of his most recent EP, PRKSDE, he is making waves in the music industry.  Nick pulls inspiration from all different genres to create his sound. You can think of him as a part of the new class of Alternative R&B artists that Frank Ocean help pioneer.  With admirations for the greats like Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Beyonce, Outkast, and Usher you are sure to experience greatness.

Nick Lamar is adamant about having his hand in the creation process from conceptions of the composition to the mastering of the final record. He believes that, like Michael Jackson, having a hand in each production will yield timeless music.

At age 17, Nick Lamar auditioned for American Idol. After receiving a golden ticket, he had his first chance to go to Hollywood. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in the top 100 after forgetting his lyrics. His elimination was disappointing but he didn’t let that stop him. He went on to graduate from high school and attend Florida A&M University. While in college, he spent days honing his vocal talents and playing the local circuit. During his final semester at Florida A&M he decided to give American Idol one final shot. This time the he was eliminated in the Top 75 round. Since his elimination he went on to release three EPs and an album, “Lucid” (2014), “The Bel-Air Collection” (2016), "Laurel Hills" (2018) and the iTunes Album Charting PRKSDE (2020).
