You might not know this young recording artist, writer, producer, director, actress, and philanthropist Nia, but you know her work. She starred as Young Nala in Disney’s Tony Award-winning musical, The Lion King on Broadway. She performed in the feature film Joyful Noise starring Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, and Keke Palmer, and the epic biopic piece Nina, starring Zoe Saldana.
Her infectious melodic sense and poetic and emotive lyrics have resonated authentically with the masses since she emerged as a prodigiously talented songwriter affiliated with SESAC as a pre-teen. Nia’s music favors an organic alternative R&B aesthetic with electronic instrumentation, emotionally raw lyrics, clever hooks, and powerfully expressive vocals.
