Neil Wright Band

Born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of NY, I reveled in the beauty and balance of the natural world which would forever own my heart.

I began teaching myself guitar, keyboard and saxophone at age 12 and knew I had found a love that would be with me forever. Music eclipsed most everything else in my life and my poor parents had to beg me to STOP practicing and go outside and toss the ball around with the other guys…

While trying in vain to make my family proud and become a ‘normal’ person as a student of Electrical Engineering at RPI, I became inspired (distracted) by the creative musical potential I saw in emerging digital technologies, both for sound creation and recording.

For two decades after college I toured the US and Canada as an engineer and musician, hiking to any nearby mountain or Indian ruin during the day, and performing at night.

It was in the union of these opposites that I ultimately found my artist’s expression, which spans and integrates the elements of Jazz, Pop, R&B, World, New Age and Baroque music in a fusion of sound and style that is uniquely my own.
