“We're off to a running start this week at college
radio with the Naree CD,picking up 16 adds in week one
alone. One station - KASB in Bellevue, WA -is really
loving the CD as they've already debuted us at #1 on
their CMJ top
30! Charters in the first week are rare, and #1
debuts are even rarer, so this is hopefully a sign of
good things to come. We had a CMJ Add from WCWP in
Brookville, NY, meaning it was one of the station's 5
favorite new records out of the dozens and dozens of
CD's they received this week. Other adds came in from
KASC (Tempe, AZ), KDHX (St. Louis, MO), and WMTS
(Murfreesboro, TN), just to name a few. A lot of
stations currently have us in review….
Our second week at radio saw heavy airplay
coming from KASB as well as some light airplay from
KUTE, WCWP, WIXQ, WBLD,WVYC, WSYC and AM 1610. New
adds came in from KSLU-1 (St. Louis, MO), WWUH(West
Hartford, CT), WARG (Summit, IL), WUIC (Chicago, IL),
WLOY (Baltimore,
MD) and WPSC (Wayne, NJ) to name a few.” - Planetary Group

Independent reviews for up and coming album "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" and previously released "In This Life or The Next" EP :
Wildy's World:
This dichotomy creates a cognitive tension running throughout the EP that somehow magnifies through the lens of infectious Pop influenced Rock N Roll. The end result is a CD you'll have on repeat for days.
NeuFutur Magazine:
“Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” is a perfect track. I had not heard of Naree before receiving a copy of their “Jekyll & Hyde” disc for review, but after hearing this song, I am hooked.
musicemissions.com:
At the risk of sounding like a cheeseball with no sense of manhood, I am digging the Naree EP release, “In This Life Or The Next”. Partially cause it hits close to home personally right now, but mostly due to the rhythms and energy.
Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange:
Doug Cameron tried to craft this kind of pop-rock in a release or two that were ultimately saccharine and overwrought; Naree has deftly avoided that in her EP, opting to weigh in with strong melodics, captivating hooks, and a very believable tone in voice and inflection.

"Time to return to the main stage to catch some of Naree. The lead singer had an amazing voice – a mix of Pink and Kelly Clarkson and the music was an eclectic mix of indie, classical and even some Asian rock."
review by Lucy Robinson
"They warm the crowd up nicely before Naree pull onto stage all the way from the USA. Tip for budding bands. If you want to get a crowd to stand and watch you, throw hundreds of stress balls into the crowd. Kids and dads alike scramble to the front whilst the band play their indie/Asian soft rock set with gusto and its not half bad."

Cancer-stricken teenager holds on to her music
| By Ginny dela Fuente, Special to Gulf News | 25/10/2003 | Print this page
Abu Dhabi-based Naree hopes to inspire other cancer sufferers and their loved ones
Pain is what you make it," says Rebecca "Naree" Londei. Brave words, especially coming from a 16 year-old.
Naree (meaning "Lady" in the Thai language), as she prefers to be known, certainly knows what she's talking about, having gone down the road of pain herself when diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 14. But despite undergoing harrowing chemotherapy treatments after her operation, she refused to be disillusioned and instead focused on her first love: music.
Naree's mother hails from Thailand while her father is half Italian and half English. Born in Abu Dhabi, her passion for music is clearly from where she draws the strength to make her dreams for the future come true.
Her vibrant character belies the ordeal that she has been through and one cannot help but admire her. Her dream of becoming famous and successful is apparent and her main focus in life is a determination to succeed in the entertainment industry.
Speaking about her songs, Naree says that the lyrics were drawn from her life's experiences, her family and friends. She wrote her song Hells Flames in hospital while recuperating. "I have always kept a brave face during my ordeal and the only way to express and let others understand what I was truly feeling inside was through the lyrics of my songs." She is now on her way to launch her very first album called I'm No Fool. This is being produced by an independent label in Wales called Bee House Studios and is due to be released sometime in December.
Naree, who plays the acoustic guitar while singing most of her songs, is also in her final year at the International Music Institute for a Diploma in Piano. She has also participated and performed in several musical recitals held at the Cultural Foundation. "I have always enjoyed performing in front of an audience ever since I was young, and I aim to make it to the top," says Naree, whose dream is also to open a charity for children with cancer and to be knighted by the Queen for her contributions.
Recently Naree put up a second live performance at the Marina Mall. Through her songs, Naree hopes to inspire both other cancer sufferers, and those whose loved ones have or have had cancer, with a lot of faith, courage and love, saying "It's possible to bounce back to life again."

Bout with cancer inspires survivor's recording career
Compared to Avril Lavigne, teen will sing at Relay for Life
FANNIE SUNSHINE
Jun. 9, 2006
At first, the stomach cramps were light and sporadic, not meriting great concern.
But as time progressed, so did the pain, and 13-year-old Naree found herself skipping school and shortly after her 14th birthday, the cramping was so intense she couldn't walk upright.
A CT scan in her homeland of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates revealed a tumor in the teenager's stomach.
After a five hour operation with the intent of removing the growth, doctors were caught by surprise by the tumor's size and could not remove it because of the close proximity to Naree's liver.
But doctors were able to determine the tumor was ovarian cancer, a rare diagnosis for someone so young.
After a brief hospital stay, Naree and her family flew to England, to meet with doctors to decide the next steps.
The aspiring singer and classically trained pianist made sure to bring her guitar with her.
After two operations, four three day chemotherapy sessions, a pulmonary embolism, kidney failure and eight days on a breathing machine, the massive 15.4 pound tumor was removed after a six hour operation, along with her appendix and left ovary.
"I am technically in remission and I go for yearly check-ups," said the now 19-year-old, who will perform a one hour set of original music during the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life event June 23 and 24 at E.T. Seaton Park at Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue. "I don't know if I can have kids but I'm not worried about that now."
Naree, who has recorded two albums, is in Toronto until July in hopes of catching the attention of a major recording label.
She drew inspiration for material for her two albums, 'I'm No Fool' and 'Proud', from her battle with ovarian cancer, often referred to as the silent killer, drawing on the dark emotions she would feel while putting on a happy face.
"I'm a jolly and upbeat person and this was a way to express my darker side," she said. "I'm very open about it (cancer) and I've never had a problem talking about it. I wrote a lot of material while I was in the hospital."
Once Naree was well enough to go home, her father found an ad offering singers recording time in Wales.
"We were driving in the country passing a lot of sheep," Naree recalled. "We found a little house and there was a dusty room with expensive recording equipment. We recorded three songs, including 'Love is Immortal', the first song I wrote at 13, and then recorded more tracks."
She recorded her second album at the same studio and worked with an American promoter until they parted ways last summer.
Now under new representation in Toronto, the singer has performances lined up, including Relay for Life, before she heads to Berklee College of Music in Boston in September.
"A lot of people compare me to Avril Lavigne, and I take that as a compliment," said Naree, who will perform O Canada to commence the relay June 23 at 7 p.m., followed by a performance from 11 p.m. to midnight.
In addition of focusing on her musical career, Naree also makes pewter and silver pendants for her charity, Pick Life, with 10 per cent of proceeds going to the Teenager Cancer Trust in the United Kingdom.
The pendants can be purchased online at www.picklife.nareemusic.com/index.html.
"My experiences had to make me grow up quickly," Naree said, adding fans often share with her their own dealings with the disease. "At first people are sad but because I survived people praise me for it and I don't think I'm so special because I'm young and I survived cancer. I'm lucky I survived and I'm happy I survived but I try not to take it for granted. Little things that would upset me before don't bother me now."
Amy Linton, fundraising co-ordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society, said $160,000 was raised last year in North York for the Relay for Life, an amount she hopes to see increase to $215,000 this year.
The relay consists of 10 individuals per team for the 12 hour, overnight, non-competitive event that celebrates cancer survivors and pays tribute to loved ones. The Relay for Life will kick off at 7 p.m. with the opening ceremonies, followed by a survivor's victory lap.
Participants will be treated to outdoor movies, a special children's performance, karaoke, food and live music and singing all night.
At 10 p.m., photos of those who lost their lives to cancer will be placed around the track, surrounded by candles, as part of the Luminary Ceremony.
"The Relay for Life touches all cancers, from children up to adults," Linton said.
Since 1999, the Relay for Life has raised more than $38 million in the fight against cancer. This year in 81 Ontario communities, an estimated 61,000 Relay For Life participants will help raise more than $15 million for cancer research.
