In the last calendar year, the staff of PERSONA Magazine has been honored to meet many new artists freckled across the Atlanta area. But, none have quite compared to the energetic stage performance of Najasism. We were more than pleasantly surprised when he agreed to perform at the November Industry Mixer held in midtown. Not only did this dedicated, young artist ignite the stage with choreographed dance moves, but his presence filled the room with enthusiasm as well.
Najasism is definitely in a world of his own. His on-stage persona could easily be compared to the memorable acts of the late 1980s to include Morris Day and The Time, Prince and The Revolution, Rick James and Cameo. But, don't be fooled; there is nothing dated about this performer. Instead, his performances simply remind you of a time when artists provided you with a full performance rather than standing in one place and hitting a few notes and calling it a song. His songs are upbeat, up-to-date and uplifting. His use of color, imagery, make-up and on-stage antics all successfully combine to create the perfect performance. Whenever he and his entourage grace the stage, the visual performance is much more than entertaining; it is simply breathtaking.
Coupled successfully with his brash, unique sound, Najasism provides a complete show filled with entertainment value that has seemingly been lost in recent years as artists have become studio creations rather than musical expressionists. We were fortunate to have an opportunity to see repeated performances by this young "ball of energy" as he has been requested to appear at industry and networking mixers across the state.
At the request of our followers, Najasism has returned to perform on our stage on repeat occasions. He has received accolade from industry professionals who know the inner workings of the music arena and commend him outwardly on his marketing prowess as well as his ability to make himself the focal point of every event that chooses to attach themselves to his name. After becoming entranced by his magnetic performance at one of our functions, local Bad Boy artist / author Mark Curry, complimented the group of performers and stopped his own interview to offer advice and encouragement to this rising star.
Now (and always) on tour, Najasism is taking his act to stages across the country and creating a wave of fans that can't seem to get enough of this dynamic young artist. When asked to define Najasism, this outwardly energetic performer became a shy, introverted child. He smiled and seemed as if he was - for a moment - unprepared to answer. Then, with the same enthusiasm that he attacks the stage, this 5'7" powerhouse simply smiled and said, "Najasism is a movement where everyone who has a love for music can enjoy themselves. I just want people to really enjoy what we do and find themselves embraced by our performance. We are here for everyone - not just ourselves. And, we want everyone to have fun!" Without a doubt, he has succeeded in his mission. - Persona Magazine
