Bio
Four gentlemen from Barcelona who met at the university, where they studied cinema, and came to the brilliant idea to form a band. We don't know if they would have been geniuses in the science of cinema, we do know that their decision to become Mujeres paid of.
The band is known for a mix of punk, garage, rock & roll and maybe even some blues and rockabilly. It is fast, exhilarating and fun.
Within a year after releasing their self titled debut they had a full touring schedule. Not just in the little bars in Barcelona where they started their career, but in festivals all over the world (Spain, UK, France, Italy, Portugal, Holland, Belgium). Mujeres even conquered the U.S. (several editions of SXSW in Austin, NYC, Chicago) and Canada (CMW in Toronto) with their magnificent show. You don't even have to know the songs to sing and jump along. Mujeres is pure fun, for band and audience. They are now presenting their second album 'Soft Gems' (Sones, 2012).
The press said:
Another totally essential Spanish-language garage band, Mujeres are rallying an intense following around their recently released debut album Soft Gems. Its no wonder either. These wild boys from Barcelona strike that elusive perfect balance between tunefulness and straight-up raging. They might be gems but theyre not soft.
MTV
The front row is unbridled chaos. Kids are bent-over-barricade stoked, screaming the words, throwing fingers and fists, jumping atop one another. They're responding like it's a long-awaited reunion show rather than a set from one of the Barcelona DIY scene's most popular recent groups.
...Mujeres are most concerned with the energy of their music, creating moments with audiences that are breathing and physical.

Its not just that the songs are catchy as hell, but as the album continues to photosynthe-rock (flower punk), you catch yourself feeling as if you have already heard this album. You know the hooks, you know when the solos are coming up to air guitar to, and yet the tunes still sound fresh.

Soft Gems pt.1 is taken from Mujeres brand new album called Soft Gems, and besides having the best bassline of 2012 so far, it is also a pure pogo song.
