Lars Andersson and Phillip Dornauer record skeletal, celestial shoegaze under the name MOLLY. They just released their second EP, As Years Go By, and now they’ve shared a video for its title track and a new b-side called “Milk Teeth.” Their music reflects the cold beauty of the Austrian Alps, and so does the video, which matches their murky ocean of guitar with unsettling images of primitive face sculptures. MOLLY are Lars Andersson and Phillip Dornauer from Innsbruck in Austria. With a shared love of the early Creation bands such as My Bloody Valentine and RIDE they knew the sound they wanted from the moment they decided to form a band together – shoegaze. Today they are inspired by artists such as Sigur Ros but their dreamy sound with waves of distorted guitar and a depth that defies a 2 piece is getting them noticed around the world. Whilst Lars, all blond hair ablaze like a cool young Robert Smith, gets his guitar singing above his dreamy vocals, Phillip defies musical science with his drumming, bass and keyboards combined. Live they are a captivating experience not to be missed.
