Bio
Mirra Jensen is a unique artist, crossing multiple genres to create adult contemporary music. Her voice ranges from rich velvet tones to heartfelt earthy storytelling. Mirra Jensen released her debut album ‘The Sound’ in 2006. Two of the tracks from this album ‘Floating’ and ‘Let Go’ have been selected to feature on compilation albums since the release. Her 2010 release 'Guiding Light' sees Mirra embrace her many influences through the production elements on the tracks.
Mirra’s diverse musical tastes are the product of a commitment to pursuing many musical experiences. Having gained a coveted place at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts, Mirra Jensen completed a Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours in 2002. She soon received the Murray Vagg Vocal Scholarship along with other accolades and awards. Mirra’s vocal training has ranged from Opera to Jazz, to Contemporary and Theatre and she uses all these many influences in her original music.
She has performed in prestigious venues around the world and made many guest appearances throughout her career. Highlights include as soloist with orchestra at a series of Bach Cantata’s, at the Westin Melbourne, the State Theatre of Victoria, the Melbourne Concert Hall, as part of the Shakespeare Festival, Ripponlea Estate, the Athenaeum club on Collins, at corporate and promotional events for Myers, Burberry and Emporio Armani and the full circuit of local venues supporting original artists.
