Bio
Raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Elhajli grew up in a town with a rich history of folk music where landmarks such as Club Passim allowed artists like Bob Dylan to begin their careers. Coming from a Venezuelan and Moroccan background, she became interested in the folkloric music of her parents hometowns at an early age where she would sing in both Spanish and French. Later influenced by artists such as Debussy, John Coltrane, Antonio Lauro and Joni Mitchell, Elhajli began to play acoustic guitar and study jazz at Berklee College of Music where she majored in Performance.
In 2014 Elhajli embarked on a musical journey to London where she would come to play at some of the most renowned clubs and festivals in England, such as The Cambridge Folk Festival, and The Troubadour Club. Miriam currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
She is in the works of planning and recording her debut LP which will be released in the winter of 2016.
