Bio
Mila Auguste: Biography
Marie-Laure was just fourteen when she made up her mind to be a
singer. Her Corsican and Breton roots have given her a rich musical
heritage that has now blossomed into a rare talent.
She is now well on the path to achieving her dreams, thanks to the
release of her first album, showcasing her remarkable talent as both
singer and songwriter. She has picked up plenty of experience along
the way, including a year of acting and voice classes at the legendary
Cours Florent and two years studying song writing, composition, and
performance at the Manufacture de la Chanson. She has sung at many of
Pariss leading venues, from the Lavoir Moderne to the Divan du Monde.
A chance encounter with Dino Trifunovic, songwriter and guitarist for
Paris-based dandy rockers ALISTER, and pianist Martin Guilbaud led
Marie-Laure to form a trio. The three musicians divide their time
between Paris and Corsica, building up loyal fan bases in both places
- and online.
Marie-Laure, Dino, and Martin took the plunge in 2009, co-writing
their first titles. The songs were honed to perfection over the
following summer, when Marie-Laure booked over thirty dates in
Corsica, including the Porto Vecchio Festival.
The trios success encouraged Marie-Laure to return to her own
writing. Her songs met with an enthusiastic response from Aurasky
Music and producer Arjuna de Bromon and Marie-Laure became Mila
Auguste. Her first six-song EP, Back to the town, will be released in
October 2011.
