Bio
"I almost died about 5 years ago. Ever since then, my health has not been the same.
But I'm still standing here.
I really want to contribute back to the humanity while I'm still alive.
My songs are intended to look out for the future.
Most of them are sung to share the know-how techniques I know to enjoy living life on this Earth.
Of course I have the dark-side in me, too.
There are songs that are very down and out, but they are there also to show that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Unfortunately, I'm not strong enough to carry out what I want to do as a band.
And my short stamina even causes hardship to do solo gigs.
Though I really want to regain my health, I have no idea how long I can keep on playing and gigging physically.
But there are many more songs I want to present in this world while I'm still here, to make life easier and better, celebrate life, and I hope to contribute them through my original music."
Mika El is Japanese, residing in Australia for almost three decades.
Mika El has been involved in few bands in the past 5 years, especially "Moore Black & the Organic Roots", an Australian reggae/world music band in Adelaide, which has been invited for an interstate festival stage, Globe to Globe Festival in Victoria, and committed to the government funded touring within Australia.
The band has supported Oliver Mtubeki at Thebarton Theatre where holds 2000 capacity in Adelaide while Mika El was involved with them.
Mika El was playing small percussion and vocal in the Organic Roots.
Currently Mika El is involved with a WAMI award winning, released from Island record, Senegalise Kora player Ziggi Mabeye Diagne in his latest band "Heart Of Africa" playing bass in Adelaide.
There is an album "Music Is The Healing" Mika El is on board that was released in 2007 as the Organic Roots, with Mika El on vocals and percussion.
Mika El has been writing songs for a few years.
Although she was fairly new to songwriting, recently she won 2 top awards from the Songwriters, Composers, and Lyricists Association (SCALA) organised Festival Of Original Music Song Competition 2009. In 2010, she has received commended award for her song in Studio Section from FOOM 2010 competition.
Another song was selected in the Honorable Mention section in Songwars 2010 4th quarter competition in the US on 25 Feb 2010.
