Migratory Animals functions as a unique collaboration between three very different, yet complementary songwriters. DJ Ryan, Matthew Cassillo, and Bradley Bosenbeck have been writing and recording together since 2006. At the band's roots is the idea of total collaboration and concord, creating music that runs the gamut from warming and dream-like to edgy and excitable. Faux Real, released on April 9, 2011, is the band's first full-length album to be recorded and released through the band's own studio on Long Island.
