Midnight Mourning

Midnight Mourning.... the name came about one day while Stephen and Clint were out moving cattle on horseback, just chatting and those two words were uttered. They thought that it sounded cool and decided that if they ever started a band that's what it would be called. Almost two years later, Midnight Mourning's conception as a band began. The two began writing songs and eventually pulled former bandmates and brother Scott Klopfenstein and Josh Mudge into the mix. The songs off of "The New Black EP" were written over the course of the next year. Midnight Mourning has plans to record more soon because half the set contains unrecorded songs. The songs range from progressive post hardcore to alternative to almost anything in between. Often these elements all come together in the same song making them sound quite different from a lot of things, but not too much so. We play in and around Rapid City, and played a show in Nebraska last summer. We started out playing mostly covers but now play almost entirely our own original music.
We are all Christians and seek to make positive music, but also music that our generation can relate to and enjoy. We write about life, our experiences and things we see. We have all kinds of influeces from Thrice, Chevelle, Anberlin, Motion City, Come Back Kid, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Bullet for My Valentine, Lostprophets, and a lot more.
