Michelle Ferreira

Growing up behind the counter of her parent’s pet shop in Long Island, New York, Michelle Ferreira learned you had to command attention to truly be heard. From amidst the medley of cages rattling and animals of every kind squeaking, chirping, and purring, Michelle herself began to sing, to find her voice. From one jungle to the next, she developed what would truly become her sound in her small apartment in New York City; influenced by singer songwriters like Sara Bareilles, Adele, Ingrid Michealson and other indie pop artists. Michelle began recording her debut album “Stories Left Unsaid” alongside producer Chris Wallitsch. Since the album’s raucous release party on October 5, 2011 at The Bitter End, Michelle has landed gigs at different venues across Long Island, NYC and Brooklyn. In February 2013, Michelle was nominated for both People's Choice and Song of the Year in the International Portuguese Music Awards for her song "Glass of Wine" (Ukoustic). She continues to spread her wings by taking her songs to different stages, both physical and virtual, as she performs her own songs at venues and releases videos online. And with new songs being written and fine-tuned, the sky is the limit for Michelle. This songbird has broken free of her cage and is poised to soar.
