The night opened with teen sweetheart Mia Bergman. Only 14 years old (she had her birthday during the event), Mia already has a quite a catalog of songs and showed most of them off during the week. She would also open for the other main acts later in the week as well as play acoustic sets with the other artists during the day. - A.J. Soldo
"I kind of grew up listening to classic rock. A lot of the Stevie Nicks stuff that I fell in love with, the stuff I really liked, is very similar to country music now," Bergmann said. "Once I really started listening to country, I just realized I fell in love with the music. I love the meanings of the songs. They are not just beats with words to them. It's just real. That's what I love about it," Bergmann said.
Bergmann's entertainment opportunities started to escalate when she and her mom traveled to Nashville, Tenn., in June Bergmann wrote the song "Secret Crush" with Keith and Adrienne Follese, one of the top songwriting teams in the city. The couple have written songs for Martina McBride and Jessica Simpson among others.
"We wrote that song. It was so much of an experience, and something I will never ever forget," Bergmann said. "Now, when I listen to that song, it's not just the songwriting. It was the whole experience of Nashville." - Vincent Jackson

For many it would take a lifetime to accomplish what Mia Bergmann has done in such a short period of time. Mia is a seasoned performer with an intense passion for her craft that has allowed her the opportunity to share the stage locally, nationally and internationally with headline acts such as Dustin Lynch, Colt Ford, The Bacon Brothers, John Michael Montgomery, Confederate Railroad, and Chris Cagle.
This past June’s CMA Fest brought Mia and her band to the Hard Rock Stage 3 times. Beginning to play guitar and write songs at the age of 12, Mia was fortunate enough to learn the craft of songwriting from ASCAP Songwriter of the Year, Keith Follese, who also produced her first album. Her new EP “The Way It Seems” was just released June 3rd. Mia has written over 80 songs and has played more than 200 shows in just three years.
Growing up with music constantly playing in the house and going to concerts regularly at an early age, it isn’t a surprise that Mia became so passionate about music. With influences such as Stevie Nicks, Kacey Musgraves, the Grateful Dead, and Grace Potter, Mia takes bits and pieces of what she listens to and shapes her own style. With a love for lyrics and song meanings, she has found a way through her songs to express how she is feeling and what inspires her.
Of course, nothing happens without a lot of hard work and a strong support team. Mia’s teachers include: Vocal Technician – John Peters, Guitar – Kit Worton, Performance Coach – Tom Jackson, and Producer – Jim Allison.
During her travels back and forth between Nashville and New Jersey, Mia caught the interest of Taylor Swift’s former manager Rick Barker who continues to play a major roll in her development. Rick is constantly using her as an example with his other clients on how you can continue to get an education and pursue your dreams of making it in the music business. “As much as Mia’s music is shaping her own life, we are also seeing the effect her music has on others,” Barker says.
