Merrily and the Poison Orchard's music could easily get lumped into the generic folk-pop pile, but the instrumentation on Time and Hell--featuring the Rhodes organ and mandolin--and the noticeable jazz influences keep things interesting. Try "I've Been So Good" or the title track. - WLUR FM
"A talented pianist who has had both extensive classical and jazz piano training, her vocals meld lilting phrasing to soothing notes which wash over the soul like crisp, cool water... The simplicity and strength of Merrily's music and vocals brings Jolie Holland to mind, but this Portland native has a style all her own- distinct and unforgettable." - Dino Raecker - Pop Rocket, August 2008
"Vaudevillian indie this be... everything is driven by a DIY ethic seemingly plucked from the late 60s, as this band could easily back Country Joe and the Fish without much heavy lifting. Easily shifting from loose ballad to spritely bounce, you will have no problem getting entertained with these easy breezers on the stage."

"A talented pianist who has had both extensive classical and jazz piano training, her vocals meld lilting phrasing to soothing notes which wash over the soul like crisp cool water. She says her music is like "little wood nymphs pounding your eardrums with daffodils," which is in fact an apt description. The simplicity and strength of her music and vocals brings Jolie Holland to mind, but this Portland native.. has a style all her own- distinct and unforgettable." - Pop Rocket
