Bio
Melanie D, a small town country girl from the East Coast of Canada, is a rising star in the country music industry. Originally from Rogersville NB, Melanie was raised listening to Country and Bluegrass music. At the age of 10, she performed on stage for the first time. That was when she discovered her passion for music and the motivation to share it with everyone. She has charmed audiences ever since.
Finally, she realized her biggest dream of becoming a country recording artist as she released her debut album entitled Melanie D - Thinking of you in May 2010. With the collaboration of several well-known east coast musicians, including Ray Legere, Chris Colepaugh, John Maher, Frank Doody, Denis Roy, Paul Hébert and more, this album is sure to entertain and connect with everyone.
“Thinking of you” contains 10 original songs written by local songwriter Janice Chevarie and was produced by Denis Roy. However, Melanie composed 5 of these songs and holds all of them close to her heart.
This album has already been recognized by Music NB as it was nominated for “Country Recording of the year 2010”. Her first 2 single releases also made the top 20 countdown of CJSE Country 89.
Melanie has a style of her own; her beautiful country voice with a bluegrass feel makes this album unique and described as a new country sound with an edge. So watch out country music fans cause this small town country girl is going all the way!!!!
