If music is a language, every artist should aspire to be a linguist. Enter MEEKO, the self-proclaimed “ANOMALY”. His music is refreshing and authentic. It is the right blend of consciousness and style. His content will entertain, inform/educate and definitely please the listener’s ear. Born into a Nigerian household, he naturally embraced the afro-beat sound from an early age. Early musical influences were Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade and Shino Peters. The passion for music grew as he explored other genres but it wasn’t until the early 90’s that hip-hop became a mainstay in his life. As a student of the golden era of hip-hop, he learned to appreciate substance in music.
After releasing a street album called ISOLATED SHOWERS with members of the Touch 4 Touch Family, Meeko is embracing the role of a solo artist. This is how he intends to make his mark. His first official solo album release, THE DETOUR is just the beginning of this mc’s legendary aspirations. In a time when there’s a lot of obscurity behind musical intentions, he plans to make an impact that will in turn leave an imprint through the current and forthcoming time periods of music.
